New Payment Policy for 2012

All new and existing patients must have a credit card on file in case of late cancellations or no shows. You will always be informed first if your card will be charged for a late cancellation or a no show appointment. This is in order to enforce our already existing 24 hour cancellation or no show policy. Thank you for your understanding.

Holiday hours and advanced scheduling

The community room for acupuncture appointments the week between Christmas and New Years will be open the following dates:

Tues. Dec 27th, Wed. Dec 29th, Sat. Dec 31st.

For existing patients we ask that if you would like to schedule an appointment for one of these days that you schedule and pay for your treatment in advance. In honor of your acceptance of this policy we will be charging $20 for acupuncture appointments.

The rest of the practitioners will be open during these days for appointments. It is best to call in advance to schedule with these practitioners because there will not be full time reception during this week. We thank you for your continued patronage and hope you have a great holiday.

Thanksgiving Hours for community acupuncture

Happy Thanksgiving!

The community room will not be open for acupuncture during the week of Thanksgiving. We will re-open for acupuncture on Tuesday, November 29th, at 9:00am. There will not be a receptionist during this week. Thanks for your patience; we will return all messages as soon as we can! All other practitioners will be in the office seeing clients.

Marian Shorb, Reception

Marian just graduated from the University of Colorado at Denver in the Spring of 2011 with a Bachelors degree in Sociology. She started working at Denver Community Acupuncture around the same time. Marian plans to obtain a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine degree- becoming a Licensed Acupuncturist and Certified Chinese Herbalist in the near future.

Gianna Ursetta, Reception

Gianna graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2008 with a Bachelors degree in Business Marketing. She began working at Denver Community Acupuncture in January 2011 and loves every minute of it. She is in the pursuit of getting her Masters in Secondary Education in hopes to teach high school math. She will receive her teaching license next December but plans to continue working at DCA.

Skye Martin, Skin Care

Skye Martin has been practicing and perfecting skin care for over 6 years. Growing up in the beautiful hills of Wyoming, she moved to Montana to attend the top esthetician school in the region where she began her elite training and education by a leader and pioneer in the skin care industry. For the last 4 years Skye has called Denver home to the delight of her ever growing Colorado client base. Skye understands that every client is unique and adapts to their needs, she built a loyal clientele in Denver at an award winning waxing boutique. Skye is now a fully certified independent provider, and is now able to offer custom waxing services, Microdermabrasions, facials, and spray tanning. Molly McEachen, Psychotherapy

Molly is a psychotherapist with 10 years of experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, individuals and families. She earned her Bachelor’s of Social Welfare from the University of Kansas in 1996 and her Master’s of Social Work in 2003 from Loyola University Chicago. Molly moved from Chicago to the Denver area in 2005 and obtained her License in Clinical Social Work in 2006. Her practice has evolved through working in several settings, which include schools, residential treatment, and community mental health. She integrates several different approaches and strategies to help people achieve their unique goals. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic and Family Systems theories, and Humanistic strategies. Molly is truly excited to be working with the practitioners at Denver Community Acupuncture combining strategies to help individuals on their journey of healing in body, mind and spirit.

Caitlin O’Connor, Naturopathy

Caitlin O’Connor is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor and a Certified Professional Midwife. She is the founding doctor of All Families Natural Health, located at Denver Community Acupuncture.

Dr. O’Connor provides Naturopathic care with a focus on women’s and children’s health. Additional areas of specialty include hormonal balance, infertility, thyroid disorders, digestive health and autoimmunity. Lisa Seward, Massage Therapy

Lisa Seward left a rewarding corporate career in 2002. After 20 plus years in the fashion industry; she felt a desire to reach more directly for growth and healing in the world. lisa says, “Massage changed my life! In my last few years as a retail executive regular massage became a gift I gave myself at the end of a busy stressful week. In working with my therapist, I felt peaceful, my mind was clear, I was more centered in my body and able to function at a higher level in my day to day life. When I began to long for the peace and calm of a new life, massage was my answer.” Today Lisa’s heart is firmly planted in the healing arts, the integration of mind, body and spirit.

She took a huge leap of faith, moved from New York City to Colorado and graduated from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy in 2003. Lisa is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist. Her training includes over 2000 hours of study and continuing education. She has post graduate certification in Pre-Natal massage, Hot Stone massage, and Aromatherapies. Lisa established her private practice by joining Denver Community Acupuncture in February of 2010. Her primary focus is to restore the body to its natural state of health and vitality.

Adrienne Kam, Acupuncture

Like so many folks in Denver, Adrienne is not a Colorado native, but she is happy to call this sunny state and its awe-inspiring mountains home. Her love of learning, travel, and tai chi are rivaled only by her love for her wonderful husband, Matt, and their canine companion,
Mr. Bojangles. Before moving to Denver, she and her husband spent a year on an eco-ranch in Costa Rica where she practiced Spanish, danced salsa, and fell in love with tropical plants. Adrienne earned her Master’s of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the Academy of
Oriental Medicine in Austin, Texas. She is a licensed acupuncturist in Colorado and a nationally board certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine. As an acupuncturist and herbalist, she is grateful for the opportunity to share this powerful medicine with the DCA community.
