Psychotherapy
What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy (also known as therapy or counseling) is a process for self-discovery, healing and growth in a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment. People come to therapy for a variety of reasons. Sometimes people want to make big changes, manage their symptoms, explore past issues, and/or simply have a place to check-in and stay attuned with one's self.
In therapy, therapists apply scientifically validated procedures to help people develop healthier and more effective ways to sustain well-being. Therapy is a collaborative treatment based on the relationship between an individual and a therapist. Grounded in dialogue building, it provides a supportive environment that allows you to talk openly with someone who's objective, warm, and nonjudgmental. You and your therapist work together to build self-awareness, a stronger sense of emotional well-being, increase your capacity for resilience in the face of stress, have better sleep and overall health, improve relationships, improve how you feel about yourself, and improve functioning at work.

Dr. Natalie’s modalities:
Psychodynamic/Interpersonal: building insight into how your past impacts your present. This includes understanding your attachment style (how we learn how to bond), relationships with others, and the relationship with yourself. This is where understanding your patterns can help lead to change and relief from painful or disruptive symptoms.
Contemplative Psychology: uses ancient Buddhist perspectives to better understand yourself and your mental health concerns. Uses ways of practicing to be present through meditation and mindfulness.
Compassion Based: approaching yourself with more kindness, understanding, and positive discipline to change patterns and behaviors that keep you stuck.
Internal Family Systems (IFS parts work): understanding the parts that make up you. We all have an internal world made up of different parts of us. Some are helpful and others keep us stuck in unhelpful and harmful patterns. For example, you may have a part of you that tries to please others or a part of you that engages in addiction. These patterns can keep a person feeling fragmented inside – like you are two different people. This approach helps build language and ways of practicing how to feel more whole.
Psychedelic Assisted Therapy: both ketamine and psilocybin assisted therapy available. For therapists certified in psychedelic assisted therapy - they are legally able to provide counseling, guidance, and support services for a client's personal use of psilocybin, however, under current state law, therapists cannot prescribe you psilocybin.
